Michael District Rates are due to increase from £1.38 to £1.43 for the coming year. This is an increase of 5p which equates to a 3.6% rise.
The main reason for the increase is due to rising costs at the Energy-from Waste-Plant and the Western Civic Amenity Site contributions, which have increased significantly for this coming year. The increase will help to cover the rising costs at the Amenity Site.
The Commissioners have in the last four years invested in new disabled toilets for the village as per the Disability Act and also new play equipment with more to arrive in the next couple of weeks. This is to replace unsafe items in the Main playground. This has all been done whilst seeking to maintain service levels handed down from central Government in 2015.
